Investigating the Effect of Information Technology Competencies on Knowledge Management

Today, the relationship between information technology and knowledge management is a topic that has been considered by social and economic thinkers. It is expected that the convergence between the development of information technology and development in the economic, political, social and cultural spheres of countries, will bring profound changes based on knowledge-based. Considering its current relations in the world, globalization, pervasiveness and multi-channel communication between users, it is argued that these changes could revolutionize the economic and business activities of knowledge-based companies and change their movement from production to open and mass production. Therefore, the present study was conducted to investigate the effect of information technology competencies on knowledge management. The statistical population of this study is 360 managers and experts of the country. Using simple random sampling method, 168 people were selected as the sample of the present study. The present research is descriptive-survey and applied in terms of purpose. The measuring tool is a questionnaire. In addition to descriptive statistics, structural equations have been used to analyze the data. The findings of this study confirm that the competencies of information technology have a positive and significant effect on the dimensions of knowledge management. Also, testing the research hypotheses shows that the competencies of information technology have a significant effect on the storage, distribution, acquisition, creation, preservation and application of knowledge, respectively
